Kallapadi mango is a traditional local mango variety cultivated mainly in parts of Tamil Nadu. The fruits are medium-sized, round to oval, with green to yellowish-green skin when ripe.
The pulp is yellow, soft, juicy, and mildly fibrous, with a balanced sweet–tangy flavor and pleasant aroma. This variety is commonly used for fresh eating, juices, and traditional preparations, and is also valued for its distinct local taste.
The tree is a large, hardy evergreen with good adaptability to local climatic conditions. Kallapadi mangoes usually ripen during the summer season (April–May) and are known for their reliable yield and rustic charm.
