Maruthani, commonly known as Henna plant, is a small evergreen shrub grown for its aromatic leaves. The leaves are traditionally dried and powdered to make natural henna, which is used for hair coloring, body art (mehndi), and cooling the body.
The plant produces small, fragrant, white to pale pink flowers and grows well in hot, dry tropical climates. Maruthani prefers full sunlight and well-drained soil with moderate watering. It is drought-tolerant once established and is commonly grown in home gardens, medicinal gardens, and farms.
