Bangalora mango is a well-known variety grown mainly in South India, especially in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The fruits are medium to large, oval to oblong, with smooth greenish-yellow skin when ripe.
The pulp is yellow, moderately juicy, and slightly fibrous, with a sweet taste and mild acidity. This variety is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for processing, pickles, and juice.
The tree is a strong, tall, and spreading evergreen, known for its regular bearing and good yield. Bangalora mangoes generally ripen during April–May and are appreciated for their good keeping quality and transport tolerance.
